Leading The Way In 2021 – The Race Is On


Despite all of the obstacles of the past year, technology thrived and provided solutions that allowed business to continue. If 2020 was a year of uncertainty and upheaval 2021 is going to be an arms race for the tech industry. 

 

This year we not only face further effects of the pandemic, but also the issues that have been highlighted and championed around the globe – climate change & the environment, personal privacy, digital security to name but a few – all of which are crying out for innovation over the coming year.

 

The UK needs to be at the forefront when it comes to providing solutions

to what are quickly emerging as the issues of the decade.

 

As the world adapts and gets used to the idea of virtual talent and remote working, talent acquisition is going to enter a new era. No longer hampered by the need to be in a physical office and commuting distance, not only has the talent pool you have access to expanded but competition for the best talent has dramatically increased.

 

For businesses looking to expand and capitalise on this demand for new and innovative solutions, it is going to be imperative to invest in finding the people that think outside the box and push boundaries – the true driving force behind innovation and success.

 

There is no better example of this than Elon Musk – recently becoming the richest man in the world – who through his passion, drive, and investing in the right talent has, throughout his career, made a success from targeting issues that not only push the boundaries of industry but also address issues for the betterment of humanity both terrestrially and on a wider cosmic scale. Despite having very little personal experience in the fields his name is now synonymous with – he understands that surrounding yourself with the right people is the key.

 

So, what is the take away from this?

 

I could, of course, tell you that we, Foundations Executive Search, are here to help you – accessing talent further afield, targeting skills gaps, securing the right calibre of individual in a market flooded with updated and inflated CVs, etc – and WE ARE. But… 

 

This is a call to the future market leaders and the wider UK Tech industry.

 

For the UK Tech sector to continue leading the way in technological advancements across so many industries we need to, right now, not just look to the future but to stride into it and start making it our own.

 

Rather than just shoring up current positions, worrying about media headlines and reacting to the ever-changing lockdown rules – invest in the very best people and recognise this year for the opportunities this year can provide.

 

Forge ahead, surround yourself with the people who will champion the new ideas, connections, and innovations and start developing solutions needed to address the issues of the decade.
