Cloud and DevOps Engineer – Perm or Contract to Perm

Our client, a specialist consultancy offers bespoke learning to a client from the inside out, all across the world.

This role, however, is working closely with internal teams, has an internal focus but also a necessary engagement with its selected partners. We would say this would be fantastic for those that may have around 3 years’ experience and who is looking for something truly fulfilling post Lockdown!

The role itself is to migrate, support, and to evolve the current infrastructure within the business; working closely with the software team to also improve the best DevOps practices.  

A breakdown of responsibilities includes:

• Supporting the migration of infrastructure to leading public providers
• Help drive further cost optimization
• Execute the adoption of Kubernetes-based hosting
• Install, maintain and upgrade the existing infrastructure
• Maintain reliability
• Security surrounding the application infrastructure, data, network access, and backup systems
• System performance tuning
• Monitor applications services and servers

Skills / Technical Exposure:

• Experience of managing one or more of AWS and Azure public clouds
• Linux Admin Skills (CetOS &Ubuntu) – Apache Web Server
• Configuration via Puppet
• Terraform and Terragrunt
• Continuous Integration Tooling
• Gitlab / Bitbucket / Github – Version control tools
• Jira
• MariaDB – MS SQL and NOSQL is a bonus!
• Docker – AWS (EKS)
• Understanding of code and script
• SCRUM environment
• App and Infra Security + Monitoring
• Tableau Admin (Bonus)

Salary – Upto £55,000

Location – Ideally S.E Hampshire + London (Need to commute to both) although currently remote working

Will look at a Temp to perm arrangement (£350P/day to £55,000)
