Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) –  London-based – (up to 71k annual salary)

This market-leading software company has dominated its industry through their innovation and excellent technical applications. Working within one of the customer teams you will be improving the latency, performance and efficiency of this particular industries leading transactional platform; ensuring the system has maximum uptime and the best possible performance. 

This client aims to build the most reliable and high-performing platform. This particular role will require someone who can generate performance reports and statistics by conducting and supporting tests within customer environments. Furthermore, attending analysis/ design meetings will help provide input for the growth and development of technical solutions. This requires someone who has excellent communication skills both written and spoken to be able to lead the development teams in their approach and strategies for supporting major events and driving improvements. 

Skills/experience required: 

• Interact with different customer stakeholders directly in order to understand their needs and goals for the future around stability and performance. 
• Talented coding in at least one major language (C, C++, Python, PHP); 
• Strong experience in developing software and operating high-volume transactional systems;
• Strong knowledge of relational database design and operation (any vendor); 
• Experience with database performance tuning: Query plans, locks, the query optimiser directives; 
• Strong knowledge of provisioning, configuration management, and application- deployment software (mainly Ansible); 
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken 
• Experience with applications operating on Unix/Linux; 
• Scripting skills: Bash, Perl, Python, JavaScript; 
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery; 
• Ability to learn and critique new technologies quickly
